It's been three years since Adam and Mia had broken up. Mia is a successful cello player and Adam is a famous rocker. Adam decides at the spur of the moment to buy a ticket to see Mia in Carnegie Hall after he finished his concert.

Is he going to talk to Mia again? How will Mia react to seeing Adam after so long? Will the two of them work out what happened to them years before? Will Adam's popularity mess up Mia's concert? Does Mia still love Adam as much as he loves her?

So far in this book, Forman switches between the past and the present in Adam's perspective. The pattern that I notice is that every few chapters, it switches from the present to the past. This is because an event that is in the present time triggers something in the past that happened, causing numerous flashbacks to happen. This happened when Adam entered Carnegie Hall to see Mia's concert and he remembered their first date. This has also happened at the beginning of the book when Adam had an interview about his past relationship with Mia. This triggered a flashback about how he and Mia broke up. Basically, there are two stories going on. One consists of the present time, and the other consists of Adam and Mia's relationship. I predict that as the story moves on, Mia and Adam will eventually work things out between the two of them. Therefore, leading to only one storyline which is the present day.
